Okay – here’s another work-in-progress shot of my mercenaries. The Mariner has been on the painting table for about a week and a half at this stage, so you can see that progress is slow. It’s coming together nicely with only the grey areas and detailing to do. It shouldn’t take much to finish it. ...

Wargames Audit: Warmachine and Hordes

Audit. A word that strikes fear into managers everywhere. If you’re in a business area that doesn’t get audited I envy you! That said taking stock of any activity can be a healthy exercise, so in this series of posts I’m going to reflect on what games I play and how I’ve fared with them ...
I’ve been playing the Privateers (on and off) since early last year and I think I’m pretty good with Shay and okay with Fiona. I’ve never given Broadsides a go – I’m not a huge fan of the ranged game, but a few weeks ago I picked up Drake MacBain. Since reading the Mercenaries ...

Lenny and I got a Steamroller practice game in on Tuesday and I’m slowing getting the hang of the Privateers. That said, I spread the army too far and fell into Lenny’s (well laid) trap, i.e. lots of ranged attacks zeroed in on the scenario (Incursion) objectives! He had good concealment and cover for most ...
