What with actually running the Dark Ages Vampire game (it’s going well, thanks, although there’s no interesting meta as yet and so I’m observing the First Rule of RPG Club), painting up Lizardmen and trying out Lord of the Rings, I haven’t been talking much about Warmahordes – or playing that much either, as tight ...
Tuffalo, HOOOOOO!
I have no real idea how I painted these. It involved layer after layer of Scorched Brown > Tallarn Flesh > Knarloc Green > Cobra Leather and then a good slather of Gryphonne Sepia over the top just to take the extreme baby-poo off the Tuffalos themselves; then blending in more Knarloc ...
All done and ready for FQD2 tomorrow! Granted, most of them were done when I bought them, but I did have to mark all the bases, as well as painting the Kovnik, Valachev, and most of the Kossites…
Filed under: been painting, IABN, khador, mercenaries, warmachine ...Sneaking this one in between proper updates:
The first part of the Khador army I’m painting for Si, our Star Wars GM and Pathfinder guru, who’s given me his spare monitor and promised a Lizardman Blood Bowl team in return. I live in hope that he will actually play some games with these at some ...
These lovely ladies had their first game a couple of weeks ago and I assured Andy T. that they weren’t finished… but looking at them again, they seemed to be more or less there, so I figured I’d base them up and have done with it. I have to admit it was a relief; ...
Close-up shots available at mai bukkit. I would show them to you but, for some reason, I can’t seem to link to the cropped versions. Photobucket is a strange beast sometimes.
Technically that’s 25 points painted, although I didn’t do either the Totem Hunter or Sentry Stone myself and so it’s not REALLY ...
Since I don’t have any made-up names or commentary on the sculpt to indulge in, here’s something a little different: a step by step of the dodgy wet blending. It’s hardly a tutorial since really, I barely know what I’m doing with this, but have a shufty at it anyway. The end result looks ...
Been Painting: Pureblood Warpwolf ‘Grey’ and Kaya the Moonhunter: UPDATED

See that? That is a very, very tricky model to photograph. The pose, the colour-scheme, and the composition (with most of his armour being on his back or obscured by other parts of him) all add up to frustration. I'm not as keen on him as I was on Scar; the blending is somewhat scrappier ...

Not a bad start, I feel. The giant mould line across his face only became apparent after priming, so I figured I'd highlight it as an old scar that never goes away no matter what shape he takes. Deliberately light on spikes too - they're a bit silly and half of them were missing anyway. ...
