Well, as is normal for me, I like to talk about conventions I go to. A lot. So, as I did last year, so I will this year. I had the pleasure of driving to DieCon 2010 to participate in Privateer Weekend III organized by the St. Louis RiverDogs, a fine group of gamers who put together an awesome event full of fun, prizes, boobs*, and more!
In any case, it’s been about 10 days since we got back, and I’ve recuperated and slacked off enough, so I figure it’s time to get cracking on the report. The pics got transferred, the notes got pulled out, and awayyyy we go!
Day 1: Thursday, 6/3/2010
This year, we had doubled our driving group. Last year was just Webster and me, but this year we had Ben and Casey coming along with us, with Eric flying in on Friday morning.
We met at mi casa at 12ish pm, put our tetris like skills to work and managed to somehow put 4 gamers worth of armies, clothes, sleeping gear, and the actual gamers into my poor Toyota Corolla.

TETRIS!
We had, once again:
BEN

Ben reading my report from last year... recursion loop argh!
Casey:

Big Smile for the Camera, Casey!
Maybe he was just hungry. Then there’s David Webster, aka Webster from here on out:

Doesn't he just exude enthusiasm?
So, we get rolling, and doing well, good time, yadda yadda.
Then we cross state lines into Illinois, and I get welcomed personally into the state by a police officer and a speeding ticket. Because apparently 70 mph is too high for Illinois, so the speed limit was 65. And I was going… 83 mph. :(
One ticket** later, we were back on the road. We reached St. Louis around 10ish, and met the Iron Agenda’s very own Jason Flanzer!

Hide that playoff beard, no one cares.
Jason was being kind enough to let us crash at his place, and we ordered pizza, shot the sheet for a while, and then got to bed. Jason was still painting his HardCore army, by the way. :D

I love St. Louis pizza... like a sweet cracker with Meat!
Anyways, that was Thursday. From here on out, I will be divvying up the posts by half days, because there’s too much data that will not be easily read in one sitting. Anyways, comments are always appreciated [and are a motivator to work more on this thing.

* There were no boobs, just wanted it to sound more exciting.
** Will gladly accept donations to pay for said ticket :D

Yeah, I kinda did a weasel out of a finish on the last one, but it got done :D.
I do enjoy writing these. I’ve been working kinda hard recently, but I think I should get Friday done by the end of this week, so keep tuned.
