SO… I got in 3 practice games with my list yesterday. Only one of them was in HC timed format, but the idea was to learn my models and get used to them.

So, the list is still evolving, but here’s what I used yesterday:

Highborn: 50 points
Bad Bart
- 2 x Mariners: 11
Arcane Tempest Gun Mages + UA: 8
- Mule: 8
10 Precursor Knights + UA: 10
Epic Eiryss: 3
Rhupert Carvolo: 2
Dirty Meg: 2
Dougal MacNaile: 2
Vicktor Pendrake: 2

Huh… looking it over, that’s only 48 points. Obviously the list needs more work. I think I was missing Taryn, and just completely forgot to proxy her. Whoops?

Game 1 was vs. David Webster, who was rocking some Retribution

Ravyn
- Phoenix
- Hyrdra
Full Halberdiers + UA
Full Mage Hunter Strike Force + UA
2 Mage Hunter Assassins
Nayl
Epic Eiryss
Stormfall Archers, and probably something else I cannot recall.

Anyways, this was a game where I was getting the feel for running Precursors. The Gun Mages wasted the Strike Force pretty efficiently while the Mule shot up the Halberdiers, throwing a bunch of them into the nearby woods. The Stormfall managed to catch most of my Precursors on Fire and killed him via that, and in return, my shelling did a good bit of damage. He then charged Rayvn in near the wreck of the Phoenix [which the Mule and the remaining Precursors had finished off]. He dispatched the remaining troops, but even with him camping on 2 focus, between 3 Mariner shots and one from Broadsides, she was toast.

Next game was vs. Westley, and we used a timer.

Epic Butcher
- Beast 09
- Drago
- Spriggan
- Kodiak
5 Demo Corps
Widowmakers
Doomreavers

I think that was it… probably something I forgot.

This game started with my rush to the middle to make him get in range ASAP. Beast took an early shooting, he advanced, but not again to my charge range with Precursors ;). Meg failed to stall him. On the other flank, the Gun Mages were plugging at Demo Corps, and the Mule was shooting at the Spriggan. Range 16″? NICE!

I ran up Pendrake to engage Beast, and set up my Precursors as a bait charge for beast. Butcher gave one focus to Drago, who charged and killed Pendrake with a boosted attack, and then promptly exploded :D. Didn’t matter, really. Beast charged and killed 6 Precursors, as expected. His Doom Reavers ran to engage Eiryss, but were short on my GMs. His Demo Corps ran up as well, still shy of my unit [yay inbuilt snipe!].

My turn: This is the kill turn. I upkeep Hot Shot on one Mariner, give 2 focus to the other one. Gun Mages aim, the UA takes out the Reaver engaging Eiryss. The others carve a swath through the Demo Corps with help from the Mule, leaving LOS to Butcher from Eiryss, who advanced and took away his 4 focus. 2 shots from the Mariners, ouchies, Broadsides, he gets dead. Very sad. It wouldn’t have mattered on Drago in either case, so no worries there.

Finally, played Webster again.

Rahn
- Phoenix
- Hydra

House Shyeel Mages
2 Magisters
2 mage Hunter Assassins
Full Sentinels + UA
Full Halberdiers + UA

This game ended with only a couple of models on each side. I flubbed my rolls to kill his Phoenix, or even break its arm, and then I got sworded for my troubles. I managed to unleash hell on his army with my guns, and the direct hits were just pounding away with tons of damage. There was not a lot of melee action except for the Mule getting pulled up and sworded by the Sentinels, who got countered by the Precursors for their troubles.

This was a long and drawn out game, with him keeping Rahn pretty far back, and me being unable to hurt his warjacks consistently enough.

For those missing 2 points, I’m looking at Taryn to go into that list, though there are other options.

Anyways, that’s where the list is right now, and needs some tweaking. I’m thinking about finding a spot to give Meg a Buccy…
