Next round was against Rob Elstro [Corinth], fielding a Legion force.

His list:
Lylyth
Typhon
Warmonger Chieftan
5 Raptors

So, he had a quick speedy list with tons of attacks that would really benefit from her feat. I got the first turn, and I preyed on Typhon. The army ran up, and I expected doom for Deneghra, so I Death Raged her.

He responded by advancing Lylyth and Typhon towards the forest, and I moved Nightmare up, trying to stay out of the charge range on the Raptors. However, he charged, and DOH! 2 of them were just barely in melee range, and they broke his left arm and movement. Curses! His chieftan ran up into the woods as well, trying to get into the mix.

Yikes, I’m down my heavy, I really need to do something about this. The Bloodgorgers run up, and Slaughterborn charged the Chieftan in the woods, taking him down in 2 swings. Deneghra charged up to Typhon, smacked him, and feated, catching a couple of the Raptors, Lylyth, and Typhon. She broke his Mind and Spirit, but his Body was intact. His next turn, he feated and backed up, but forgot to heal Typhon. The Raptors went crazy with shooting and plugged most of the Bloodgorgers by standing still and shooting them down. Typhon rolled really well, and took out Deneghra, triggering Death Rage. Oh well, this is all I have left. Luckily, one of the Bloodgorgers was within 2″, and so I grabbed his soul.

My turn. All right, I have to take out Lylyth. She has 2 fury, and she has no damage on her. Typhon is pretty beat up, so I don’t think there’s a lot of transfers left [he was down to 5 life]. Deneghra activates, and boosts a crippling grasp at Lylyth, hitting her and dropping her ARM. This is good, because I want big hits.

Now, I have 4 focus, and the decision is a big one. Do I cast 2 Venoms? Or do I double boost one of them for a big hit? I realized I needed to spread out the hits, and sadly, only 1 Venom hit her, doing enough to kill Typhon and bleed Lylyth for a couple of points of damage. I was dead at the end of my turn, so it was down to Slaughterborn. He charges Lylth, and rolls a 4 for Flying Steel. Okay, I can do this I think, I’m hitting on 6s, and I’m swinging at 3d6 +2 and then 2d6 +2. I should be able to take her. A swing… and a miss on the charge. DOH! Cursed Slaughterborn missed his charge, and so the second swing, while a good hit of 10 points, left her at 3 hit points, meaning Deneghra fell over dead.

I lost, securing 5 VPs only. It was a fun game, and Rob was a really cool guy. He had an awesome helmet, too, and he gave me a free energy drink. He also went on to win the event with his army.

Robbed of the win by Rob!
